When I was 8 years old in Alabama, my Dad started taking my brothers and me to the YMCA to swim laps. Of course, back then it was the Young MENS Christian Association, and no one wore swimsuits because the fibers from the cloth would clog the filters. Also, my brothers, friends and I used to explore a large woods behind our neighborhood. There was a beautiful swimming hole there, and no one gave a second thought about stripping down naked and jumping in. We got into backpacking and running rivers which frequently took us far from civilization, so I got kind of addicted to being in wilderness areas and being able to go skinny dipping. I grew to resent it anytime I had to wear a clammy swimsuit full of sand.

When I was 16 (1972), we made a trip to California to visit relatives, and two big impressions were made. First, we saw skinny-dippers while canoeing on the Russian River, and my cousin, who is my age, lost her bikini top in a rapid, revealing the two most beautiful things I had seen in my life to that point. Then, a few days later, we hiked down to a beach in Big Sur called Fuller's. It's hard to get to, but there is a 30' natural waterfall in a grotto in the cliff. I was walking among the boulders, and suddenly looked up to see a beautiful young woman, with long blonde hair, totally nude, reclining against a rock. I remember thinking, "This is beautiful, natural, right and good. This is the way the whole world should be." And I have been a naturist ever since.

I now live in California, and have discovered many places to be natural as God intended - on trails, beaches, rivers, hot springs, even mountain tops. The nicest and most peaceful people I have ever met are fellow naturists. I have only had a few people object to my nakedness. Even most clothed people are friendly and nice.

I still do not share all my philosophies of life with some Christians, and others who wouldn't understand, who I feel might be offended. Jesus also was careful not to overload people with information they could not handle. I am looking forward to the New Heaven and the New Earth, where we are clothed only in His righteousness.

Yes I do know ACF..Have many friends that go there. WOW on the baptism...Good Old Jon Courson baptizing people nude...Too Cool. I was baptized not far from the church in the Applegate River, clothed unfortunately.

The problem is when people post pictures that they would be ashamed to show their own mom, or Jesus. A picture of you half-erect or a picture of you spread eagle, taken from the vantage point that your face is farthest part of your body from the camera- no good. Pictures where your penis is the star of the photo- no good. Picture where you are posing as a model would in a pornographic magazine- no good.

Use common sense, there should be no need to discuss point by point, or create a lawyer-esque list of specific do's and dont's. If you are confused, please do not submit photos.

The veriable and inconsistant different english rendering of this word makes it very likely that it is just as I have said it means, in fact there is no other reasonable way to translate that verse from the hebrew in a intelligent way to the english language.

Besides all you have to do is consider the previous verse for some thought on the meaning on this one. It says,

Ex 20:25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it. end quote.

Just lifting a tool to use it in building the altar would cause them to "break his word", that is what the word polluted really should say. It is not likely that they would build "steps" up to his Altar without tools.

So without steps up to his Altar we would have to use a different word to describe here what the Hebrew word Ma-alah should mean in this instance. Possible degrees? Nah, I dont think so.

Since Altars that are found in Churches are something you kneel down too, and are too low to need steps we have no real way to say an Altar even needed steps.

Altars were principly made to offer their sacrafices on and never intended to be so high to need to even have steps to go up on them, it is not likely that they would need a command to not build steps up on the Altar or that their nakedness be even seen on them since it was not necesary to even go up on the Altar to offer a Sacrafice upon it.

Generaly "words" compiled in a sentence with sustainable evidence is evidence enough to establish a claim.

But what you lack is ability to do that evidently.

We are discussing a noun that has multiple different english meanings with multiple ways it is translated by professional translators and you don't want to acknowledge that the word in question can mean something other than a "step", or that it should be even translated something other than a step.

Therefore you are even trying to change the meaning of the english word "feminine" to meaning some thing that that is not even alive.

It might mean her step or her altar, but the word ma-alah is not feminine without a reason. Just like plural and singular. One man told me that if a word was plural that it did not necesarily mean that there was two of them. But all of these grammar genders and pluralities past or future tenses show action or what ever it is used to be doing.

If the word in the Hebrew is a "feminine" step, journey, degree, story, or what ever it is showing that it is "her step", her journey, her degree, her story, not his!

Now most of the time, not allways, when it speaks of "his nakedness" in Leviticus 18:6- and Leviticus 20, it is refering and meaning , "his wife" or his offspring from his wife and not talking literally of "him just being nude". A for instance in Genesis is this;

Ge 9:20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
Ge 3:19,23; 4:2; Pr 12:11

21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
Pr 20:1; 1Co 10:12

22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

This form in the Hebrew Idium is talking of Noah having sex with his wife and that is what Ham saw and came and told his brothers. It is not referring to Ham seeing his Father naked! His Father Noah was probally nude with his wife while they had sex but it was not a singular seeing of Noah naked that was the problem with this senario! But because People and translators do not know how to interpret Hebrew thought into the english language people think what happened was Ham just seen Noah naked and it was counted as a curse to him. Not so!

And it is the same way with Exodus 20:26. The Hebrew thought was that God did not want them to be having sex on his Altar.

So when you understand the hebrew thought behind "that his nakedness not be seen on mine Altar", in hebrew thought it is not referring to his naked body but "the sexual act" itself upon his Altar, just as it was when Ham saw his Fathers nakedness, it meant he saw Noah and his wife engaged in sex.

All scripture rightly divides with each other so that "Hebrew Thought" is understood from one scripture in another passage to other passages of scripture as well.

Welcome to NC! I see you are from MD - I used to live there for a few years in 2001 on when I was in the Navy. I lived on Ft. Meade and worked at NSA (National Security Agency). I miss it there! It is a beautiful state - especially Annapolis! It is gorgeous!!!

Yes, yes, and yes! I think it is one of the strongest statements you can make about feeling confident, to take your clothes off. That may sound corny, but I really believe it. When you're young and horsing around (skinny dipping or whatever), it has sort of a craziness to it that doesn't require real body acceptance. But to be with friends, in a normal every day setting, and to say "I don't need clothes, I am comfortable wth my body" - that takes guts. And for me to able to do that makes me very proud of myself. And it makes me realize that God gave me someting beautiful, and I should love myself and love the world.

Don't use 100% plain flour. It tastes better with a little bit of oat flour or other coarser grain. I buy a multi-grain flour for a better texture. Some people mix a bit of instant mashed potato into batter for better texture. I would not use more than 1/4 cup potato flour to 3/4 cup wheat flour. Don't forget baking powder if it is not in the mix.

Cooking time
I like my pancakes thin, almost like crepes, so I add more liquid than the recipe calls for. Regardless of your preferred thickness, wait for most bubbles to burst before flipping. After flipping your pancake wait until the steam diminishes. You can gently lift a little bit of the edge to check, but it is better to let the pancake cook undisturbed.

Oil
Don't use soybean oil or those generic vegetable oils that contain soybean oil. It imparts a fishy taste. I prefer corn oil. Be sure to use a paper towel and keep a light coating of oil on the skillet. Cast iron is better than aluminum skillet or teflon.

Extra ingredients
For an extra treat, add fresh chopped pecans (checking carefully to remove bitter shell fragments), or frozen chopped strawberries or blueberries to the batter (but not too much or batter will not cook fully near frozen fruit).

Topping
Never use fake syrup. They generally are made with high fructose corn syrup, which is bad for you.
Use fruit jam, honey, or real maple syrup. Try it without sweet topping sometime, using melted butter alone. Some people like whipped cream with minced fruit as a topping. I don't mind that as a dessert, but find it too sweet for breakfast. I also prefer to leave fruit out of the batter at breakfast for the same reason.

Side dish
I like bacon, sausage (patty or link), or a slice of ham with pancakes.

Cooking hint
Skillet must be just the right temperature for best results. A drop of water should not just sit there. Neither should it instantly turn to steam. The skillet is at the ideal temperature when a drop of water "dances" on the top of the skillet.]]>

For an extra treat, add fresh chopped pecans (checking carefully to remove bitter shell fragments), or frozen chopped strawberries or blueberries to the batter (but not too much or batter will not cook fully near frozen fruit).

Topping
Never use fake syrup. They generally are made with high fructose corn syrup, which is bad for you.
Use fruit jam, honey, or real maple syrup. Try it without sweet topping sometime, using melted butter alone. Some people like whipped cream with minced fruit as a topping. I don't mind that as a dessert, but find it too sweet for breakfast. I also prefer to leave fruit out of the batter at breakfast for the same reason.

Side dish
I like bacon, sausage (patty or link), or a slice of ham with pancakes.

Cooking hint
Skillet must be just the right temperature for best results. A drop of water should not just sit there. Neither should it instantly turn to steam. The skillet is at the ideal temperature when a drop of water "dances" on the top of the skillet.]]>

In Genesis, God promises to make Ishmael a great nation and it is through Ishmael, (Ismail), that Muslims believe that their faith came down from Abraham, (Ibrahim). I can only assume that the "great nation" God promised to create from Ishmael therefore includes modern day Muslims. That, in a sense, makes Jews, Christians and Muslims "cousins" - spiritual descendants of Abraham. On that premise, I can only come to the conclusion that, in different ways, we are worshipping the same God. Muslims also recognise Jesus as the Christ, the Messiah, although not His Divinity or sacrifical death.

My view would therefore be, like Paul, who was "all things to all people, that some might be saved", that I should recognise the similarities I share, as a Christian, with my Muslim cousins. I can explain my standpoint, (and they theirs), in mutual respect and I can pray that the Holy Spirit can move hearts to bring people to Christ.

I believe that conversion is due to God's work, not my clever arguements. If we are to have a relationship with a Living God and Father through His Son Jesus then the Third Person of the Trinity must move in our hearts to make us receptive. Christianity just doesn't make logical sense, ("foolishness to the Gentiles"), without this relationship and the Holy Spirit's guidance. Hence trying to attack a Muslim person's, (or any other person's), religious viewpoint purely on logic seems to me to be counter productive and potentially damaging to God's gentle leading.

To draw this rather long post, (sorry), to a close, I believe that if Christians sink to the level of deliberately antagonising other folk then we are not doing what Jesus would want us to do. Yes, stand up against evil, but deliberately provoking and alienating a group of people by burning a book that they hold sacred, no, and certainly not in Jesus' Name. That, in my opinion, makes the "Christians" who do such things no better than the "Muslims" who murdered thousands of innocent people at Ground Zero.]]>
