There are also some Catholic parishes with nude baptisms. May just be the pastor at the suggestion of the family.

My post was obviously taken the wrong way. I am sorry for that.

Point is, there are indeed churches out there that are scripture based, and do believe that an unclothed body in itself is not a sin. Suggestion that perhaps, you simply have not stumbled upon one in your area yet. With all the nudist resorts in your area, I cannot imagine that you are the only church go-er in the state with an all-over tan. I saw a LOT of extra-tan people in chapel when I went to Miami a while back. If I were a gambling man, I would bet money that most of the extra tan people didn't have tan lines.

I am also a pretty hard-line KJV Baptist myself, and the two hard-line KJV Baptist churches near me are both OK with being nude, when appropriate. Even at a resort. In fact, one pastor suggested I use the opportunity while at the nude resort to profess the word of God and the salvation of Jesus. And, my wife and me both did just that. Makes great evening hot tub conversation!

However, not all true Baptist churches are alike (in fact, as a rule- Baptist churches are quite independent), so your circumstances may vary. I am involved with both a Calvary Chapel and an SDA church, mainly because I choose to keep ALL of the commandments, and I feel at home with the church bodies. But, it is unlikely that one single church is going to be the answer to all your needs. If you like to sing, that's great! If a church you attend doesn't choose to enlist you in their on-stage praise and worship group, that is no reason to stop going there. Just sit in the front row, and sing your heart out! Turn and face the rear of the church if you like while you sing to the Lord with all your might. Eventually, they may change their mind and ask you to join the group just to quiet you down!

Remember, attending church isn't all about you! It's all about Jesus. Do it for Him, and you will be doing it for the right reasons. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. Don't get too caught up in where you hear the word, just that you do hear it being taught.

Just an idea...

How about we make a list of congragations near where each of us live that are not like the weaker brothers. The ones that are accepting or even encouraging of our prefered way of life. I know of none near me, but if I knew of any I would want to let my fellow local naturist Christians know.

As it is, I have not even met any local nudists, Christian or not. :-(

Jon-Marc wrote:..... Maybe things are different on your "side of the country". We have more nudist resorts in Florida than probably anywhere else, and yet the pastors here are 100% against social nudity and describe nudist resorts as "wicked". I've heard that too many times here to believe I am going to find a church where the pastor is open to Christians enjoying nude time--especially with other people.

Jon-Marc, I suspect that you are a victim of demographics. Given the large number of retired persons in Florida who are often very socially conservative, I would expect that is part of the driving force that makes most of the churches anti-nudist. This is probably exacerbated by the influx of wild party goers (think spring break) who are drawn to the land of sunny beaches for their hedonistic parties. Maybe Florida is just not the place for you. Unfortunately moving is expensive and I gather from your other posts you like a warm climate.

I wish I lived in Florida. Even if only for Jon-Marc's sake, I would do whatever I could to find or establish a Biblically-based, naturist-friendly church, particularly in Pasco County. There is a HUGE mission field that can be harvested right there.

Many naturists are like Jon-Marc, disinfranchised Christians, pining for fellowship. Many are already spiritually minded, but have not discovered what a relationship with Christ can bring into their lives.

I am not sure that I agree with the statement that the "retired" demographic are a part of Jon-Marc's problem. Many of the people that I know who have reached retirement age, even those that are very "concervative", have experienced enough nudity from hospital visits or caring for elderly parents, that they are more understanding and accepting of simple nudity. If anything, it is the younger generation that seems to have the greater hangups when it comes to the naked human body. That might explain it better, since many of the churches I have been involved with or witnessed seem to be working very hard to attract a younger crowd. In fact, one church we felt compelled to leave had changed it's focus so much that they were seemingly purposely driving away the elderly in the congregation, the very ones who had established the church thirty years prior. :x

Also, part of Jon-Marc's problem is that he is limiting himself to KJV Independent Baptist churches, of which there are few, if any, in his area. The other problem is that he will not attend a church that will not allow him to sing as a part of the service. What he needs to remember is that his gifts are not for the congregation, but for the Lord. God will hear his sweet voice just as well in the pew, at the front door or out in the parking lot as He would from the pulpit or choir loft. Also, he needs to give the pastor and the church members enough time to get to know him as the God-loving person that he is. He may have to sit and listen to 100 sermons on the evils of nudity. Then, perhaps not right away, he can show them that he is worth to be a part of the praise team and they will accept him with open arms.
SON-cerely,

Jon-Marc, The biggest thing all of us have ever tried to convey to you is that we all love you and wish the best for you. We know that you would prefer to be on a worship team and/or leader rather than just sitting in the congregation singing, but it is all in the Lords hands and not ours or yours, if He wishes you to be part of a team He will make it happen. I have had problems and left a church recently, as I have shared, so I understand your hurt feelings (if that is what to call them). I encourage you to seek out another local church, when they ask for your address to visit you, tell them at this time you would prefer to get to know the church before you would like them to visit. There is no reason you need to share anything address or lifestyle wise with them as a new visitor or member. Like Nathan has stated you may have to sit through MANY anti-nudity sermons to show them you are good person and even though you live in a nudist resort and prefer to be nude, you are not a perv.
We all are praying for you to find the church you are looking for.

Join a Catholic Church. They gave up family visits about 30 years ago. As far as an address, give them a PO Box. As long as you keep dropping money in the bascket, everybody is happy

Also like to sing and am often asked to join the choir, but my voice drifts and have to have a good singer behind me to keep on key.

Once went to a parish where the pastor, a converted Southern Baptist, warned the congregation that either they sing "good and loud" OR you will hear me sing LOUD AND BADLY. That parish really started to raise the roof.

:-D
